These are my predictions for the 2008 to 2009 year. They begin and end with each years respective Spring Equinoxes. I have made an attempt to simplify my predictions, and make them quite concise. Previously I heard complaints that my predictions for last year were a bit erratic and repetitive. I have also trued to focus on my own country The USA seeing as it is such a major player in the world and its actions seem to affect the world as a whole.
Mundane astrology is exceptionally hard - it has many variables - which are obviously unknown to the astrologer at the time of the reading. The intent is to get a general idea of what is coming over the next year - that is all.
This comng year seems to be a relatively negative one. As with all things, its polarity will become apparent during this time. So even though this may be a negative year of much political and financial uncertainty - it will be an excellent time to delve into the "Great Mystery" and become more spiritual.
It is also important to remember two things:
1) That we as inhabitants of the earth and as individual manifestations of God, we each have the power to make the world a better place. If we were to all act positively towards the earth and each other we would wake the following morning to find that the earth had become a paradise overnight.
2) That as long as the material world exists, there will be "Bad." Suffering, disease and wars, are a fact of human existence and will always be present. The "good" is what keeps the "bad" in check and vice versa. This may sound strange to many of us but this is a divine truth. Can we have love without hate? Can you perceive light without the darkness? Good and Bad are two sides of the same "divine" coin.
3) That we - through our action - are what keep the balance in check. Do we act for the benefit of humanity or for ourselves? Do we live a life of hope and love or one of fear and ignorance? It is becoming more and more obvious the pendulum has swung the way of the "bad" and as a result of this the earth and humanity suffer. Through this suffering we learn because we seek the opposite of what causes us pain. This leads us back to number one above.
Predictions for all of The Nations of The World.

The economy of the world will not be very strong during this time. In fact in many countries around the world taxation and national debts may be seen to increase this may also include a very pronounced increase in inflation which will further burden nations and their citizens.There can be some sudden and drastic market swings during the first six months. The possibility of high unemployment and or a worldwide depression is very strong during this year - though I would guess that this would very likely occur after the USA presidential election.
There will be much conflict with regard to the following countries Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, all regions of former Yugoslavia, Greece, Lithuania, India, Afghanistan, and Mexico. This may also be a difficult year for Greece, Iraq, Syria, France, Brazil, Turkey, Switzerland and the countries of the West Indies.
There will be much dissension politically within these countries and there will be much internal discord and in some of these countries there will almost be, or in fact be breakouts of civil war or major unrest. This unrest will be principally focused against the upper class and the ruling party's of these countries so in essence these are anarchic revolutions.
On the plus side, people will be turning towards higher spirituality and religion in an effort to combat their growing frustration. There will be many surprises coming from the leaders of the world and many of them will again make misguided decisions. Many leaders around the world will become increasingly dictatorial towards their own people in countries which have elections during this year there will be major changes with the people voting for the party that will bring the most change to their countries so in a way people are rife with discontent. This would mean that we could expect a democratic majority within the United States including the presidency.
Foreign affairs around the world during this year will not all be successful and diplomacy will practically be put aside. The definition of what a family is will continue to undergo change throughout the world. The citizenry of the world will be very discontent with their lot in life and will be seeking much change.
During this time when you read a newspaper and watch news reports remember they may not be completely accurate. Countries as a whole will have the abilities to manipulate the press. Yet during this time the people the world will continue to divert themselves by having fun, paying attention to sports, and other diversions such as dancing and music - however this can also lead to an increas in negative escapism such as drug and alcohol abuse.
Again the economy will suffer due to the continuing collapse of the mortgage and housing markets and individually people will be very prone to gambling and will suffer many losses to this vice.
Again during this year crimes involving women and their exploitation will continue to increase throughout the world.
Instances of sabotage and spying even among allied(friendly) countries will increase during this time.
As a result they could also be many instances of terrorist attacks within countries.

Much of what was written above will continue. Finances will be doing horribly during this time. The people will be seeking major political reformations and as usual governments will seek to prevent these changes. There could be accidents involving short distance travel such as highway and roadway accidents. On the plus side as stated above a more universal spirituality will be developing in conjunction with those who seek political change. There could be serious misfortune with regard to Libra (e.g. Vladimir Putin) ruled leaders in countries the leaders of the world will be much disposed to warfare and may even resort to that including police actions to solve their own internal and external disputes.
Predictions for the USA

The focus of the country during this time will be the status of the economy which will be going through much transformation and will not be performing very well during the six months beginning March 20 of 2008. The country will be very much focused on issues involving our leadership and who will be replacing our current president.
The first six months of the astrological new year will not be wholly unfortunate for the economy of the US. During this time the press will be rife with all kinds of surprising news though it will probably just turn out to be hype or some form of misinformation-seeing as this is an election year this will be nothing out of the ordinary-expect much bashing between the candidates and the parties with all kinds are shocking and surprising news making headlines but keep in mind much of this information will be false.
This year could be marked by an increase in in the unemployment rate and mine accidents. Agriculture will be also doing poorly and it would seem to indicate some kind of declined in crop production though this could also indicate something negatively affecting aquaculture, fisheries etc. So our oceans and rivers will be suffering.
These crops could be affected by an overabundance of rain versus drought. The people will be much interested in a return to old style American democracy something which has eroded over the past eight to 16 years. There may be some sort of new legislation involving presidential or congressional powers that may cause a great furor over the six months. This could involve issues of prisons hospitals or even spying. What ever this issue is will not leave the people very content and it will be nearly impossible for them (congress) to implement and pass the legislation - probably some tightening of the USA PATRIOT Act before Bush leaves ofice.
The democrats will have a complete victory during the November elections and will be in charge of the presidency and both houses of Congress. All that remains to see is if they will live up to their promises. The citizens of this country will seek this change because they're tired of governmental abuse and in particular the fact that there has been no change with regard to the war in Iraq. So this would indicate that the people would like to see a return to normalcy and not the continual stress of the Iraqi war and this nebulous war on terror. Peace movements should increase as this will be the will of the people.
Issues involving children could come to the fore during these six months. Perhaps funds that were going to children will be cancelled or there will be more governmental scandals such as the congressional page scandal of the past or involvement with prostitution or infidelity among governmental officials.
There will very likely be an increase in taxes during the next year. Issues involving real estate do not look at all fortunate and the real estate and mortgage markets will continue to perform poorly. Over the next year it will seem that many more troops will be harmed from combat action so an intensification of combat in the Middle East seems likely and this may very well be why the citizens of United States will want a change of course in that theater of combat.
During this time some statesmen may die but it is impossible to say whom it could be either a Leo, Cancer or Virgo individual (Sun Sign or Ascendant). I prefer not to say who these individuals may be but anyone with access to Wikipedia can search for themselves.
Issues involving prisoners within the United States may reach crisis proportions and the quality of their incarceration and violence within prisons will make headlines this will not be a fortunate time for long distance travel nor for overseas trade.
As far as news reports - remember that at this time the press is very much controlled by the governmental apparatus.
As mentioned in last year's predictions the people will be much disposed to pleasure seeking and incidences of alcoholism and drug addiction will be seen to increase. The quality of American military leadership has to be called into question and neither the rank and file of the military nor the citizenry of this country will have much faith in them. This may also be directed towards the current president's advisers. Perhaps they are over influencing war making strategy and as a result the troops could be suffering and very discontent with senior military leadership. So a change in course is very much needed if victory in Iraq and in the war in terror are desired. For example, many Generals in the Joint Chiefs of Staff seem more like businessmen than warriors. More wariors are needed - warriors who know that politics and warfare must be separate and that there are just some wars that are best not fought.
With this being mentioned it must be stressed that this country does have enemies which seek to harm it. It is very important that the people demand competency and integrity within all police, military and governmental agencies which are in charge of maintaining our citizens safety. It is also very important that these agencies not trust those who they feel our Allies. As they could actually be working on the side of our enemies.
Any future military operations in Iraq must be done with a cynical attitude toward the Iraqi government as at this point in time it cannot be trusted. Other Allies such as Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and others must also be dealt with cynically and is my recommendation that in the best interest of our troops the United States act unilaterally and without giving these countries any foreknowledge of military operations, troop movements or emplacements.
By election time, I believe that the lot of the country will not be good. I believe that Barak Obama will be the next president of the United States, and he will completely revamp the military and the war in Iraq and the war on terror. He will do this before April of 2009. However the end of conflict is no where near so I am not suggesting that the country will completely withdraw from Iraq (Think more along the lines of South Korea - a prolonged US presence), but there will be many changes inside of the pentagon. Of course these changes will not at all be popular among the military-industrial complex.
Barak Obama is being viewed by the electorate as an "American Savior" of sorts. As one can expect and as history has shown this can be a mixed blesing. Expect some major tax reforms from Obama. He may even do something so drastic as to completely replace all senior military leadership. Regardless of this, between July 2008 and July 2009 the level of debt within the US will have reached crisis proportions. I think that Obama will not only inherit a mess of a war, but he will have to figure out drastic changes to alleviate the country's economic woes, which will be worse post election - we could either be in a severe recession or worse. The people may very well be all for these changes, as a new wave of optimism could sweep the country - sort of a new American Revolutionary spirit- but this spirit can also have groups that try to split from the "system". So a return of groups wishing to cede from the union may be possible.
The important thing is for all of us to focus on the positive - to pray for the welfare of the earth and all of its inhabitants.
